About the Journey
Back when my husband, Joe, was in grad school studying theology, he got the urge to walk the camino. Then he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and his dreams of walking the route(s) vanished. He still has plans to go on the camino but by bicycle. His journey will likely begin in 2020, health permitting.
My own camino started in September 2016. I walked the Camino Frances from Leon to Santiago. I was warned that the camino will stay with you forever and that you'll miss it. This is very true. I walk and hike a lot. I live in the mountains. While I enjoy my hikes in and around Bozeman, there is something missing. Someone speaking Spanish? A bunkbed to sleep in? Random cats crossing my path? Who knows. What I do know, however, is that isn't the same.
My plan is to head back and walk the other routes of the camino as much as possible. I hope to walk the entire Camino Frances at some point when I have the time to do it. The Camino Norte and Camino Primitivo are next.
